Filled with beautiful natural locations, Jordan offers an array of relaxing and unique experiences that cater to every visitor's physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

Here are some of the best places to experience wellness and spirituality in Jordan.

1. In Amman, visitors can immerse themselves in history, culture, and spirituality by walking around the ancient Roman Theatre in the capital’s downtown area. The Theater was one of the most impressive structures that was built when Amman was part of the Decapolis League and named Ammon at the time, a city that is mentioned in the holy Bible. Those who visit can enjoy stunning views of the capital, especially at sunset and the peaceful atmosphere that the Roman Theater offers.

2. Set 260 meters below sea level, Jordan’s Ma’in Hot Springs are an oasis-like terrain and the perfect place to relax in nature and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the hot spring waterfalls. Located nearby the city of Madaba, which is known for its ancient churches and mosaics, visitors can easily stop by Madaba and visit the Church of Saint George to get a glimpse of the historic mosaic map of the Holy Land and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the religious site.

3. An incredible natural wonder and the lowest point on Earth, the Dead Sea is an incredible place to experience wellness. The sea’s most popular feature is its extremely salty, warm, and smooth body of water that is filled with a combination of rich minerals. The Dead Sea also consists of rich, black, and mineral-infused mud that is renowned for its ability to reduce skin impurities. Guests can enjoy Dead Sea-focused body treatments at one of the many 5-star hotel spas in the area such as the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar or merely float in the water and allow for their body to obtain all its benefits. Additionally, the location is a sacred site of Christianity as many stories in the holy Bible’s old testament occurred in the Dead Sea, which is referred to as the “Sea of Araba” or the “Sea Salt.”

4. The historic Nabatean city of Petra and one of the Seven Wonders of the World is carved into beautiful, exquisitely detailed red-colored rock and surrounded by massive mountains. Guests can take a morning walk or an afternoon hike to explore and learn about the ruins of the archeological site. They can also enjoy an immensely tranquil experience by visiting the city at night, disconnecting from the hustle of daily life, and enjoying the outdoor setting when a weekly nighttime event occurs where Petra is lit with over 1,500 candles.

5. Situated in southern Jordan, Aqaba is a stunning beach city on the Red Sea that makes for the perfect vacation filled with luxury and relaxation. With its many 5-star resorts and spas, multi-cuisine restaurants, and a rich sea-life, there are plenty of ways to unwind in Aqaba. For those who wish to experience some of Aqaba’s religious features, Aqaba is also home to the “oldest known purpose-built Christian church in the world” that people can visit. The Red Sea is also mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses crossed.
